Un trésor venu de la préhistoire
You will find in this page my collection of jewels which I made from fossilized mammoth ivory or mammoth teeth.

In more of pendentive out of ivory, other types of jewels (such as earrings and pins) will be added to my collection and new exotic materials will be used.

All the jewels are handmade in my small shop in Quebec from mammoth ivory having lived on earth there are 11 000 to 100 000 years. This ivory being fossilized, its trade is perfectly legal (contrary to the elephant ivory).

The mammoth was a large elephant species whose tusk could reach up
to 5 meters length. The prehistoric men hunted the mammoth for its
meat, its fourure but also for their tusk which they used to make weapons and tools.

Nowadays, mammoth tusk are discovered under the cold ground of
Siberia or Alaska durring constructions or mines excavations.

During their long stay under ground, they absorbed minerals which can
have coloured them. The parts most exposed to the elements present a
variety of colours going from brown, orange up to greenish or bluish. The ivory from the center of the tusk, aspreserved its colour cream-coloured white.

Do not hesitate to communicate with me to know the availabilities of certain models or for any other question.
